Looking to the future
When Melissa was young she took trips to Puerto Rico, reconnect to her maternal side of the family. These visits opened her up to see colonization and work on ancestry trauma. Visiting Puerto Rico keeps her connected to her ancestors and culture that have been lost. She hopes to permanently stay and create a space for education and holistic healing.
